Sara Hirsch is a London grown poet and spoken word educator. She is a former UK Slam Champion, third ranked in the World Slam Championships 2014, winner of the European Poetry Slam in Madrid 2016 and a 2017 BBC Slam Finalist . Sara has performed at Glastonbury, is a TEDx speaker, has featured on the BBC and has toured extensively both in the UK & Internationally. As one half of 'Team Trending', the runners up in the National Anti-Slam Final 2016, Sara is proud to have nearly been officially both the best and worst poet in the UK.

Sara recently graduated with distinction with a Master's in Creative Writing & Education from Goldsmiths University and completed the acclaimed Spoken Word Education Programme. She worked as a poet in residence at a London secondary school for two years and regularly runs workshops in schools and communities around the world. For more information click here.
Sara’s debut poetry collection ‘Still Falling’ was published with Burning Eye Books in 2016. It has been described as “Annoyingly good” by Harry Baker. Her second collection 'Louder Than Words', was published with their imprint BX3 in 2017 and was endorsed by Michael Rosen.
After a 3 year stint running Genesis Slam, one of the leading 3 round slams in the UK, Sara is setting her sights further afield. She is currently splitting her time between hemispheres and has just taken on the role of Education Director/ is an associate artist of 'Motif Poetry' in New Zealand. In the coming months she will also be appearing at numerous literary festivals across the UK, will be leading workshops in China, Thailand, NZ and Europe and will be attempting to gradually dismantle the patriarchy, one poem at a time.
